New partnership with Cimandis
We are delighted to announce a new partnership with Cimandis. The partnership will help fund the associations many planned initiatives to help facilitate further recovery to the sector.
Commenting on the three year partnership Richard Dow, Managing Director of Cimandis said “The GHA have in a relatively short timescale achieved great strides in bonding what was a seemingly disparate industry, this is something that we applaud and wished to actively support outside of our obvious trading relationships”.
“Cimandis is the largest Foodservice provider in the Channel Islands, delivering products to over 1,000 customers in retail, hospitality and the service sectors. We have depots in Guernsey, Jersey and Alderney as well as servicing Herm and Sark. The partnership is a perfect synergy for our business”.
He added, “The work of the GHA directors has been impressive, especially in the light of being totally self-funded, and positions held principally pro-bono.” “As a ‘not front facing’ member of the hospitality industry we have also been directly involved and effected. A galvanised, focused and advancing industry will certainly help improve the visitor economy and the wider viability and growth. We are pleased to be considered as a worthwhile partner that also is determined to build the sector back to full fighting strength.’’
Alan Sillett, GHA President commented “It is particularly rewarding that such a well-respected commercial pan-island business has noticed our work and commitment and been happy to stand alongside to help elevate the GHA’s impact to a new level”. “The GHA is all about its members, and the board are very conscious about giving value and offering well informed assistance in many areas, especially after such a difficult two years. We are currently all about “survive and thrive”. “It is our job now to support the membership in moving forward, and we relish driving further opportunities. Cimandis’ sponsorship will help facilitate our ambitions and deliver on our objectives” he added.
Cimandis is the largest foodservice provider in the Channel Islands, in both geographical reach and the number of items available to its loyal customer base. Capitalising on its relationship with Bidfood in the UK, Cimandis has access to over 14,000 items in the Bidfood supply network, in addition to the 3500 held in stock on island, offering any Cimandis customer an unparalleled freedom of choice.
The relationship also allows Cimandis to benefit from Bidfood’s international commercial buying influence; giving customers a pricing benefit that is generally only found in these foodservice suppliers but with the customer service, 1-2-1 support and genuine attention to detail that can only be reliably found in a small business.
In addition to this, new food concepts, trends and innovation are at the forefront within Cimandis. The Buying Teams are based on island and liaise daily with the UK and are constantly sourcing all very best new foods for vegan, plant-based, gluten-free and traditional diets. We are keen to help keep menus on-trend, assist with understanding and catering for dietary restrictions and advise on making economical product swaps where necessary to allow hospitality to recover and thrive. Cimandis is currently undergoing some fantastic operational and infrastructure investments across the Channel Islands with a market leading Operational, Warehouse Management and Digital Platform change that is going to be live from October 2022. With some sound investment plans over the next 2 years Cimandis will also be building Development kitchens at their sites for use by customers and to host events around how to further assist menu development and market trends.
