Five of our board members recently met with the new Airport Director, Richard Tomasson, and members of his commercial team.
At the time of our meeting, Richard had only been in post for eight weeks, but he has already hit the ground running. He is eager to understand more about the airport, our vital air links, and the island itself, and he came across as someone committed to delivering the improvements that are needed at our key gateway.
Richard brings a strong background in airport management, having previously held similar roles at both Newquay and Bristol airports.
The meeting was very positive, with both parties aligned in wanting to see growth in passenger numbers. Discussions also touched on potential layout changes at the airport, which could enhance the customer experience and support future growth. More details on these plans will be shared in due course.
The Guernsey Hospitality Association looks forward to working closely with Richard and his team, and we are pleased to have agreed to meet again before the end of the year to continue this important dialogue.
