Seven students took part in this year’s Young Rotary Chef competition, with judges praising the exceptionally high standard of cooking on display throughout the event.
The panel, which included Andy Coleman and Andrew Chantrell representing the Guernsey Hospitality Association, were hugely impressed by the passion, skill and professionalism shown by the students in the kitchen. The quality of the dishes made judging a real challenge, highlighting the strength of emerging culinary talent on the island.
The overall winner of the Young Rotary Chef competition was Samantha Browning. Samantha will now go on to represent Guernsey at the district final in Southampton on 21 February, and everyone involved wishes her the very best of luck. Samantha was presented with a Tom Kerridge cookery book, kindly donated by the GHA, in recognition of her achievement.
