Guernsey Hospitality Association & Cimandis to support Welfare Service

The Guernsey Hospitality Association, in partnership with industry trade supplier Cimandis, have pledged an annual donation to the food bank of £1,200.

In addition to the annual donation, an appeal to our members for vouchers to contribute to the upcoming Wooden Spoon online auction, which raises funds during the festive period, has just been made. Also, various members have offered to host the volunteers’ annual Christmas dinner event, with the food, pre-dinner drinks, and table wine provided by hospitality venues and suppliers.

Alan Sillett, President of the Guernsey Hospitality Association, explains:

“Working in hospitality, we see so much joy and celebration during the festive period, but we know that it is a time of real difficulty for many people, so we wish to help ease their burden.”

“We have been considering ideas of how we can help the island’s residents, and this new agreement with the Welfare Centre seems the best way to contribute to those who need help while doing what we can to reward the contributions of the selfless volunteers that make it possible.”

Sue Le Friec from the Guernsey Welfare Service said:

“Guernsey Welfare is delighted to be partnering with the GHA and Cimandis and their support is very much appreciated. Their recent donation came at the perfect time as we head into the busy Christmas period and will be used to support our clients as they struggle with cost-of-living increases and heating costs.

“We look forward to working with them in a variety of ways and appreciate the long-term offer of their support.”
